Operations Manager Glendale Corporate Division

Salary Negotiable

Full Time

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Operations Manager to join Glendale’s Commercial Division. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing core operational activities while supporting the Head of Operations (HoO) in driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence. As a newly created role, the Operations Manager will deputise for the HoO when required and will play a pivotal role in the senior leadership team, ensuring operations are executed to the highest standards of quality and safety. The focus of this position is to foster a performance-driven culture while supporting the company’s ability to grow at pace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee contract managers to drive operational results, improve margins, and achieve planned business growth.

  • Foster a high-performance, results-oriented culture across all operational teams.

  • Provide day-to-day leadership for all contract delivery regions, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular on-site meetings, ensuring expectations are met and exceeded.

  • Review current and future growth contracts, set KPIs, and hold contracts accountable for successful delivery.

  • Implement and champion company performance systems (Glendale Live, GlenSafe, Gritting, Dashboards, and League Tables).

  • Lead the company’s safety initiatives, with a focus on achieving Zero Harm and promoting behavioural safety across the Commercial Division.

  • Ensure compliance with all operational policies and procedures.

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and motivating staff to maintain a high-performing organisational structure.

  • Monitor business performance, safeguard the company’s reputation, and ensure financial reporting on outcomes, sales and cost.

  • Develop budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the Head of Operations.

  • Undertake innovative project work to support the smooth running of the business.

Skills and knowledge:

  • Expertise gained at a senior operational management level, ideally in a service-based industry.

  • Evidence of managing a geographically diverse workforce is desirable

  • Strong numeracy skills and IT proficiency.

  • Background in the green services market would be advantageous but is not essential.

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH or IOSH certification desired

  • Ability to build, develop, and inspire high-performing teams.

  • Decisive in decision-making, leading by example and driving team success.

Commercial Acumen:

  • Strong understanding of budgets and forecasting systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cash flow and control costs effectively.

  • Excellent negotiation skills and an ability to drive business success.

  • Analytical, methodical, and well-organised.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients and colleagues.

  • Resilient under pressure with the ability to operate at a fast pace.

  • Enthusiastic, innovative, and quick-thinking.

  • Demonstrates vitality, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement
