Grounds Maintenance Supervisor
Guildford

This is an outstanding career opportunity with a market leader providing green services to private and public sector businesses.

We are seeking a Supervisor to join our team on our Surrey Schools contract.

This is a Full-time position and the candidate will be required to work 40 hours a week and based at our depot in Guildford.

The Opportunity

  • Assisting the Contract Manager in the effective management of the programmed  maintenance

  • Motivation and guidance of the able workforce of the Service Delivery Team

  • Monitoring staff timekeeping, holidays and sickness

  • Proactively leading by example, especially in H&S issues

  • Maintenance and enforcement of security of vehicle, plant and equipment

  • Enforcement of the quality and customer care ethics through the workforce

  • Maintaining workforce discipline

  • To complete necessary daily check sheets and paperwork involved with the smooth running operations.

The Person

Candidates should be well organised and have experience in leading staff and small teams. Furthermore, they need to possess confident leadership ability, enthusiasm and communication skills.  A horticultural qualification and an appreciation of IT systems, particularly Google Workspace and field management systems, would be an advantage.

You should ideally have a strong operational background working in public open spaces and understand the importance of working as a team to deliver excellent quality and customer care.

A person with a flexible approach to working with an ability to oversee multiple services and teams is essential for this contract along with holding a full clean driving licence.
